Glass Beads for Road Marking Paint

Transportation Safety

Glass beads have a property known as "retroreflectivity" that sends back the incoming light toward the light source. When you drive at night, light from car's headlights goes into the glass beads embedded in road markings and is reflected back to the driver effectively. Thus, road markings are visible even in the dark as if they were shining.

JIS Standard Beads

Manufactured to meet the JIS standard, reliable and can be used for general purposes.

High-Index Retroreflective Glass Beads

High-intensity retroflectivity is achieved even in rain due to high refractivity of the spheres

VISIBEAD®

Larger than conventional glass beads, it stands higher to allow high retroflectivity even in rain

MX-7S

Retroreflectometer

An optical instrument designed to evaluate the visibility of lane markings at night.

■ JIS Standard Beads

Manufactured to meet the JIS R3301, reliable and can be used for general purposes. They are used on many roads all over Japan.

■ High Refraction Beads

Due to the high refractive index, effective high retroreflection can be obtained even in rainy weather.

■ VISIBEAD®

Because the spheres of Visibeads® are larger than conventional glass beads, they stand higher above the surface of water film to allow high retroflectivity even in rain.

■MX-7S (Retroreflectometer for Road Marking Measurement)

The MX-7S is an optical measuring instrument devised for measuring night time visibility of road markings.

Portable type instrument which can measure retoreflectivity by placing the instrument directly on the road marking during day on night.
